Any Virtue or Praise

Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. – Philippians 4:8

The final portion to think on is very broad. It does not focus us to those things of believers. If there be ANY virtue or ANY praise, says we should be looking at anything or anyone who shows virtue and praise. We get too caught up in our judgement of other, believe and non-believer alike. Thinking on the things of virtue and praise in others helps us to think of them in a positive light.

It’s counting your blessings in that person, even if you are not as closely bound to them or fond of their company.

If we cannot be loving and kind to all people, then why would we expect it from someone else? How can we show the wonderful life we have in Christ if no one wants to be around us?

Slow down, think on the things that are good about each person you interact with today. As you see the person you are at odds with coming towards you, think about the trait in them you appreciate, it might just make you and them a better person.
