Loveliness

Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. – Philippians 4:8

Based on Calvin’s definition, Loveliness means juicy and delicious. For some reason, Christians believe the duty they have received from God cannot be described this way. The learned thought process is that any appointment from God can never be a sweet one and that we must suffer and toil to do the work of God.

With this type of thinking there is no room for a right relationship to God. Think on things of loveliness as Paul tells us to do and we will build the correct relationship and thought process of the duties God hands us.
