A Companion for the Journey

Welcome — I’m Gerry Brown. I am currently training as a spiritual director, and I consider it a gift to walk alongside others as they listen for God’s presence.

My desire is to offer a safe, unhurried space where you can pause, reflect, and become more attentive to the Spirit’s quiet invitations in your life.

My Story

For much of my own journey, I’ve been shaped by a deep desire to help other people. Along the way, I’ve been blessed by companions who listened without judgment, asked gentle questions, and pointed me back to God’s love.

It was through those experiences, and with the prompting from my spiritual director, that I started this journey to become a spiritual director, where I can help by holding space for others to have conversations where faith, doubt, longing, and real life can meet in God’s presence.

My spiritual direction training is teaching me to cultivate the listening posture, presence, and prayerfulness that help others discern God’s movement in their lives.

My Approach

In our sessions, I don’t come as a teacher with answers, but as a companion who listens with you. Together, we create a sacred space to notice where God may be speaking — in Scripture, prayer, relationships, struggles, or everyday moments.

Spiritual direction is not counseling or problem-solving. Instead, it is a practice of prayerful attentiveness, where you are free to bring your honest self before God and listen deeply.

What You Can Expect

  • Confidentiality — what you share stays between us.

  • Gentle, non-judgmental listening — I’m not here to “fix” you.

  • Sacred space — time set apart to attend to God’s presence.

  • A rhythm — typically one session each month, giving time for reflection between meetings.

Closing Invitation

If you’re longing for a deeper connection with God, or simply need a companion to walk with you in prayerful listening, I’d be honored to journey with you.
