As we grow we are required to change. With each change there is a new challenge to take on or with each challenge there is a new change to take on.
This is the growth process, right? Challenges and changes, make us someone and something different every time we encounter them.
Think of the eggs, flour, sugar, vanilla and butter in my kitchen. They will never change or be challenged to be a cake with out me, “the maker”, putting effort to the task. Our Heavenly Father is the same. He allows or puts us in situations to make us “a cake”. He knows what we need even we we do not. He knows we must change so He puts us in situations that might be uncomfortable or even too comfortable. The over all goal is to change us. He wants us to be like a reflection of His son, Jesus Christ.
Some will say, “Jesus was perfect, He is God”, very true, but that should not stop us from trying. I heard a quote from Vince Lombardi this week that speaks to this point. When talking to His football team he said, ” Gentlemen, we will chase perfection, and we will chase it relentlessly, knowing all the while we can never attain it. But along the way, we shall catch excellence. I am not remotely interested in just being good.”
Are you relentlessly chasing Jesus Christ? or are you just content with being good?
