An open gift

‘Sacrifice or offering you wished not,
but ears open to obedience you gave me.”

Today’s reading brought this scripture. God does not force obedience, but gives us the ability to hear what it is He seeks for obedience. Before following and trying to build a relationship with Him, we could not even hear the requests of God.

Now with ears that are open, keeping our mouths closed, listen for the guiding of the Holy Spirit. Like with any conversation, if you continue to speak over others you will miss out on the relationship. Too much talk from us in this relationship without listening makes us untrusted worthy.

My ears are open, Lord, and your servant is listening.
