Poorly rich

“The LORD puts to death and gives life;
he casts down to the nether world;
he raises up again.
The LORD makes poor and makes rich;
he humbles, he also exalts.”

This was one one the scripture passages from my reading this morning . This reminds us that God has full authority. He has authority to the things we consider good and the things we consider bad. Some times we have a wrong view of things. Poor in wealth sometimes mean rich in spirit. Rich in wealth sometimes means poor in spirit. Riches have a way of pulling us away from God. Putting other things in place of Him and amazing love.

While we contemplate the above scripture, take to heart the following one as well.

Receive the word of God, not as the word of men,
but as it truly is, the word of God.
