Into the fire

“There is no need for us to defend ourselves before you
in this matter.
If our God, whom we serve,
can save us from the white-hot furnace
and from your hands, O king, may he save us!
But even if he will not, know, O king,
that we will not serve your god
or worship the golden statue that you set up.”

This is what faith looks like. When faced with a choice to serve and honor God or lay down your life, which will you choose?

In the past, all to often, I have chosen unwisely. Taking up my life and turning my back on the requests of God. Serving another god. That four letter god, self. All to often we think that we do not serve other gods and partially that is a true statement, because we are not gods and we serve ourselves.

Today and as of late I have been touched by the spirit to yearn and eagerly love and honor my God. Do I slip? Sure, this self god has had nearly 50 years to invade the life God wants to use.

I love my God and choose to serve and honor Him today.

God rescue me from this fire, or burn me up as an example of a faithful follower. Either way I love and honor you today.
