Jesus saw they were in trouble, struggling in the storms. He came toward them, but he intended to go past them. The next verse they saw him and cried out, only then did he get in the boat and quiet the storm.
How many times have we been in the storm and Jesus is just waiting on us to call out to him for help? How many times have we let him walk on by? We show up to the other side battered and bruised to ask him where he was, why didn’t he help, then blame him for the storm?
The disciples had been walking with him seeing miracle after miracle but it said they still did not understand the significance of the miracle of the loaves. Their hearts were to hard to take it in.
Are our hearts to hard to see him walking by in our storm? Are we keeping the one who calms the winds and seas at a distance? It’s time to cry out to him. It’s time to ask for our hearts to be softened. It’s time to let Jesus in the boat.
