Today I was brought a realization I had not thought of in the past.
In this day and age we are being called to be self-aware. I know all too well the autopilot days. Those days where you wake up, go to work, come home and engage in mindless activities, until you head to bed and ask the question, “where was I today?” Never a moment of presence just a day of survival, auto piloted by our brain and body, no spiritual involvement.
But the realization was the call to be self-aware, so that I can be self-forgetful. That I might serve the God of the universe and all of His creation because I am His handy work. To let go of self-sustainability and combine with God to stop being Gerry’s protector and start being Gerry the protector of others.
It’s amazing what we find when we stop to listen for 15-30 minutes. Can you imagine if we listened all day?
