We have a time for everything under the sun. Most religions also have a time of year for renewal and fasting. Today is the start of Lent, a Catholic tradition of abstaining from something or starting a new practice. Though I am not Catholic, I see the value of this practice and I fast during this time every year for 46 days, until Easter.
This is a time to focus my attention on God and sacrifice items so that I might focus on him.
